In our state-of-the-art 3D theater, visitors can gain a new appreciation of Korean ancestors’ spirit of national defense by viewingThe Great Jinju Fortress Battle, animated 3D film that re-enacts the first battle at Jinju fortress in October 1592. This battle was a terrible struggle that severely tested the entire community, as 3,800 soldiers, government officials, and civilians banded together to protect Jinju fortress against the invading Japanese, who severely outnumbered them. Under the leadership of Commander Kim Si-min, the Jinju forces endured a six-day siege before reinforcements arrived and forced the Japanese to retreat.

The Great Battle of Myeongnyang

The Great Battle of Myeongnyang is animated 3D film that re-enacts one of the sea battles in the Myeongnyang strait, near Jindo Island in September 1597. With the 13 warships remaining from the other battles, Admiral Yi Sun-sin led a last stand battle against a fleet of 133 Japanese warships. So this battle is regarded as one of Admiral Yi's most remarkable victories.

Schedule and Information

  • The film (20 min. in length) shows at the top of every hour, from 10:00 until 5:00.
  • The theater holds 50 people. Seating begins 10 minutes before the movie starts, and is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • 3D glasses will be provided at the entrance. The glasses must be returned at the end of the movie.
  • There is no food or drink allowed in the theater.
